The Marinas at South Seas Resort in Captiva Island Florida

Captiva Island got its name from the pirates who left their women and prisoners “captive” on this remote island in the serene waters of South West Florida.

Transformed now into a vacation paradise, you can still still see all the natural beauty and wildlife that existed in the pirates day without having to suffer the hardship of life a pirates captive.

The luxurious South Seas Resort which lies on the northern tip of Captiva island features two marinas.  The Yacht Harbor Marina, which features 2,400 feet of alongside berthing for boats up to 120′.  The Bayside Marina features dockage for boats 25′ and under and a trailer boat launch.

Ammenities for live aboard guests residing at the Yacht Harbor Marina include VHF Channel 16, Electricity Service, Cable Television, Freshwater hook ups, gas and diesel fuel available, showers and laundry facilities.

For landlubbers who prefer to lodge on land, there are a variety of options including hotel rooms, villa suites, and homes that can be rented.  The resort offers a surplus of activities for every age including shelling, fishing, tennis, swimming, miles of white sand beaches and many dining and shopping options.  Little ones will love the Marine Discovery Center, the water slides and the Family Interactive Game Room area.

Next time you are sailing down the Gulf Coast of Florida, stop over for a day or a week.  The South Seas Resort will not disappoint.

Send us your favorite Marina and we will feature it in an upcoming post.
